Hello everyone, hope everyone had a good weekend. I enjoyed myself at the weekend with the Vic Country Inter-League Football/Netball with fellow Trainers from Inverloch, Tarwin and Yarram to represent the Alberton League against Ellinbank League in football/netball. A good day was had with mixed results and only a small scare at games end with a player corking his back. Thanks to all who made this day run smooth and enjoyable. Thanks to all concerned with this event held at the Inverloch Ground, well done.
I must mention a belated birthday wishes to our Secretary Heather on her 60th, she enjoyed the day and thanks everyone concerned on the day and is looking forward to catching up with everyone soon.
Thanks to all the responses from the Q/A topics. I was overwhelmed with the feedback, will look at next week to cover more Q/A topics that have been asked this time.
This week I would like to ask our fellow Trainers if they would like to do a Trainer profile, send to myself or catch up so this can be entered into this page. It was done 5 years ago and it went over well, have a think about it, it gives us all a bit of an insight into our fellow Trainers.
I would like to start it off with a brief history of our Secretary Heather. Heather became a Trainer back in 1996 with Port Melb.F.C. (VFL) until 2001. The time there she worked beside the Doctors at the coal face and gained a wealth of knowledge/information in the field of Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation. Heather was very thorough in her duties towards injured players, that she was given the nickname of Mom. Moved to Yarram in 2001 and became a Trainer for Y.F.N.C. and lived up to her nickname of Mom for her caring qualities towards players, she would stay with an injured player until an ambulance or carer arrived and even after that would even ring later to see how the player was doing. Has done many advanced modules but chose not to take the step to level 2 Trainer. Inter-League Trainer for numerous years. Heather became a member of the A.F.L.T.A. now A.F.N.L.T.A. in 2002. Joined General Com for the following years and in 2010, became our Secretary and still to this present day was holding the flag for the A.F.N.L.T.A, at the recent Inter-League event at Inverloch. Well done.
That concludes this weeks report. Our next meeting will be at Inverloch F.N.C. at 7.30pm. 11th June. Special guest Luke Zoanetti, Podiatrist.
See you all there, support this night. It`s a good way to learn different techniques and catch up with fellow Trainers. Have a safe week in sport George: President A.F.N.L.T.A.
